Lately I've been.....

Lately I've been...

making a range of limited edition pillows!

HAND-PAINTED

Hemp organic cotton was my canvas and cool ocean waters my inspiration. The inks are water-based and the fabric has been heat set so you can be sure the cushions are colourfast.

SHIBORI

This range of limited edition shibori cushions are rich with copper on a cream hemp silk background. I used eucalyptus leaves and copper pipe as a mordant with red onion skin and rusty nails for the rich copper colour.

Each of these cushions is available now from EcoInspired's Etsy store https://www.etsy.com/shop/EcoInspired

EcoInspired Stems in Green

Alas, I've now sold the last of my Stems design printed in Green on the semi sheer 4.5oz hemp and organic cotton...it is soon to be pendant lampshades in a casual eating room. This has been one of my favourite fabrics so I'm very keen to print more.

I have yardage of this design printed on the 9oz hemp and organic cotton fortunately; I recently received an order from Seeger by Design; the fabric is being used to make a blind and cushions for a clients nursery...how sweet!
Seeger by Design is a boutique creative consultancy offering interior design and decorating,
colour consulting and property presentation and styling.

Colour mixing ...and a Splash of press

Thank You Verlaine:)
If you were flicking through Home & Decor in Singapore recently you would have seen our original coastal design cushion, "Splash" staring back at you from the online shopping pages.
Thank you to Verlaine Ramos-Marquez for including EcoInspired in her feature on environmentally friendly soft furnishings available on the web.

Colour Mixing                                                                                        A pinch of this a spoonful of that....
When I have a particular colour in mind, I like to mix it the old fashioned way.....adding small amounts of colour at a time......

.... after a major arm work-out and plenty of trial and error the desired colour emerges.

Recently I've mixed this soft Dove Grey.....

and I'm loving it printed on this gorgeous linen fabric.

Dreams.. and the Hemp Cube

The ecoInspired Hemp Cube was picked in this Etsy treasury by Maykela. It's so great to see one of my items in a treasury.

The cube began like this.....

....and to this was added a piece of med-high density foam, and a metre or so of screenprinted 13oz hemp in the Banyan Tree design.

Then, a great deal of careful measuring, pinning, sewing, stapling and finally it became this....a versatile piece of soft furniture that can be used as a casual seat, a tactile coffee table or just to fill an empty corner of a bedroom.

This cube can be made using any of ecoInspired's 13oz hemp/organic cotton canvas fabrics and can be found on my website here.
